Every year, we talk about becoming “better versions” of ourselves. We set goals, make plans, and try to craft a life that feels meaningful. But as I listened to “Somebody’s Miracle” by Brian Free & Assurance, a different kind of goal stirred in my heart—
What if this year wasn’t about becoming better… but becoming more like Jesus?
More gentle.
More present.
More aware of the people right in front of us.
More willing to be somebody’s miracle.
This song reminds us that miracles don’t always look like parted seas or instant healings. Most often, they look like a person who chooses kindness. Someone who sees a need and quietly responds. Someone who shows up in a moment of fear, loneliness, weariness, or overwhelm.
You don’t need a title, a platform, or a perfect life to be used by God.
You just need a willing heart.
Being Somebody’s Miracle in Ordinary Moments
The lyrics capture a truth we often forget: God still does miracles, and He often chooses to do them through us.
Someone is praying for relief.
Someone is begging God to send help.
Someone is wondering if anyone cares.
And then—you show up.
It’s the text message at the right moment.
The warm meal dropped on a doorstep.
The hug that breaks down walls.
The patience you didn’t know you had.
The forgiveness that shifts an entire atmosphere.
These small, obedient acts become holy interruptions.
Kindness is never wasted.
In God’s hands, it becomes deliverance, comfort, encouragement, and sometimes…the exact miracle someone begged heaven for.
For the Sandwich Generation & Caregivers
As caregivers and parents raising parents, we often feel stretched, tired, and overlooked. Kindness can feel like another task on an already full plate
But here’s the truth: You are already living the miracle.
Every appointment you drive to…
Every medication you sort…
Every hard conversation you hold…
Every bedtime prayer whispered…
Every middle-of-the-night check-in…
These are not small things.
These are kingdom things.
You are showing God’s heart — faithfully and often silently.
This year, instead of striving for huge change, let’s celebrate the quiet faithfulness we already practice. And let’s ask God to open our eyes to one more person each day who needs the warmth of His kindness through us.
A New Year Kindness Vision
As we step into a new year, here is a simple, grace-filled invitation:
“Lord, make me aware of the miracles You want to do through me.”
Imagine if your home, your workplace, your online presence, your homestead, your caregiving journey became a place where miracles regularly happen — not because of grand gestures, but because of steady, intentional kindness.
When we choose kindness…
We soften hearts.
We restore hope.
We point others toward Jesus.
We participate in the work of heaven.
And we become — Somebody’s miracle.
Closing Encouragement
If you’ve felt overwhelmed, tired, or unsure of how to begin this new year, let kindness lead the way. God will never ask you for what you don’t have — but He will use what you do have.
Your smile.
Your presence.
Your listening ear.
Your prayers.
The miracle somebody is waiting for may be living inside of you already.
May this be the year we live with open hands, soft hearts, and eyes that see the needs of those around us. Because when we move with love, we move like Jesus!

Bible Study & Scripture Journal
As we step into this new year, my prayer is that we will each slow down enough to notice the people God places in our path — the ones silently praying for hope, comfort, relief, or simply the reminder that they are not alone. Kindness is never wasted, and we never fully know when our small, faithful “yes” becomes somebody’s miracle.
If this message resonated with you, I’d love to walk alongside you as you continue to grow in this calling. I’ve created two beautiful resources to help you take this even deeper:
